New Delhi:Tax Budget 2025 This year, a total of ₹3,350 crore has been allocated to the Ministry of Minority Affairs in the Union Budget, which is ₹166 crore more than the budget estimate for the previous financial year and ₹1,481 crore more than the revised estimate for 2024-25.

In the previous budget, the estimated allocation for the Ministry of Minority Affairs was ₹3,183.24 crore, but the revised estimate was ₹1,868.18 crore. This time, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated ₹678.03 crore to empower students from minority communities educationally.
A total of ₹1,237.32 crore has been allocated for major schemes and projects under the ministry.

Tax Budget 2025 in Madrasas Completely Ignored:

 

Madrasas have been completely ignored in this year’s Union Budget. Since 2014, the budget allocated for the educational development of madrasas has been gradually reduced.
In the 2025-26 budget, there is almost no allocation for madrasas. The allocation for madrasa education schemes was ₹2 crore in 2024-25, but now it has been drastically reduced to only ₹0.01 crore (₹1 lakh) in 2025-26.
Even in 2024-25, the revised budget for this was only ₹0.01 crore.

The financial assistance provided to states for minority development has been increased by approximately ₹1,000 crore, rising from ₹527.12 crore in 2024-25 to ₹1,518.31 crore in 2025-26. However, the assistance given to Union Territories has been reduced by ₹30.06 crore.

Additionally, the budget for minority education has seen a sharp decline. This year’s budget is ₹678.03 crore, whereas last year, it was ₹1,575.72 crore.
Schemes such as pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MAF), free coaching, and interest subsidies on education loans fall under the category of complete educational empowerment for minorities.
The revised budget for these schemes in 2024-25 was ₹517.72 crore.

The central government has also cut funding for central sector schemes and projects, including educational development, skill development and livelihood programs, special programs for minorities, and the Prime Minister’s Heritage Conservation (PM-VIKAS) scheme.
In 2024-25, the budget for these schemes was ₹2,120.72 crore, but in 2025-26, it has been reduced to ₹1,237.32 crore.
The revised budget for these schemes in 2024-25 was ₹770 crore.
