Sweden: Salwan Momeka Killed for Desecrated the Quran
Stockholm: Salwan Momika, a 38-year-old Iraqi citizen who repeatedly desecrated the Holy Quran in Sweden, was shot and killed.
According to the police, the incident occurred near the capital, Stockholm, where Momika was shot dead by unknown individuals.
This incident took place at a time when Momika was supposed to appear in court today, where he was to be sentenced. Following intense diplomatic pressure from Muslim countries, Sweden had included religious blasphemy under the category of hate speech, and legal proceedings against Salwan Momika were ongoing on this basis.
Momika had desecrated the Holy Quran multiple times in Sweden in 2023, which caused widespread anger and grief across the Muslim world. Legal action had been initiated against him, but he was killed before the court could deliver its verdict.
