For the first time in the history of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a team without any foreign players played a match.

BPL franchise Durbar Rajshahi fielded a team without any foreign players during their match against Rangpur Riders on Sunday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
This is a unique incident and also a major violation of one of the franchise league’s rules.
At the toss for the 34th match of the 11th edition of the league, Rajshahi captain Taskin Ahmed announced that the team would consist entirely of local players.
According to local media, the franchise team was granted leniency by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) due to the unavailability of their foreign players, who were reportedly boycotting further activities until their due payments were cleared.
This move contradicts the BPL squad formation rules, which mandate that teams must include at least two foreign players in their lineup for every match.
The BPL rules regarding the composition of the playing eleven state that franchises must include at least two (02) and a maximum of four (04) overseas players in their playing eleven for any match during the 9th, 10th, and 11th editions/seasons of BPLT20.
