Houthi Missile Attacks: Fear Shadows Israel, Life Thrown Off Track
Tel Aviv: Tensions between Yemen’s Houthis and Israel have significantly escalated in recent days. While the Houthis have fired missiles at Israel, the Israeli Air Force has carried out airstrikes on Houthi targets. This growing conflict has led nearly half of Israel’s population to spend sleepless nights.
The primary reason for this is the sirens that go off to warn of Houthi rebel missile attacks, forcing people to take shelter in bunkers. Although the Houthi missiles have not caused significant damage in Israel, they have disrupted the sleep of a large portion of the population. According to the Israeli website Ynet, Israel’s air defense system has intercepted missiles and rockets, but this has severely disrupted daily life.
In addition to this, property damage has also been reported. Within less than a week, missile alert sirens have been sounded four times, compelling people to seek safe spaces. As a result, people are unable to sleep properly or carry out their daily activities efficiently.
Moor Steinberg, a resident of Reper Beer Yakot, reported that on Wednesday, they rushed to a shelter when the siren suddenly went off. A few minutes later, they heard the sound of an explosion. A fragment of one of the weapons even fell on their balcony. He stated that everyone has been instructed to follow safety protocols. While people are hiding in shelters to save their lives, it has become increasingly difficult to perform routine tasks.
