Another Historical Mosque Being Declared a Temple
In Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal, a petition was filed in the district court yesterday claiming that the Jama Masjid is actually a temple. The judge was so eager that the petition was immediately accepted, and not only that, but the judge hastily issued an order for a survey as well.
The administration turned out to be even more restless than the judge! Without delay, they reached the mosque with full police force and a survey team, ready for action.
A survey of the mosque was conducted late at night under heavy police presence.
The notable aspect here is that the Hindu side’s lawyer in this case is Vishnu Shankar Jain—the same individual who had filed a case against the Mathura Mosque and facilitated Hindu worship in a part of it. Are there no skilled and competent Muslim lawyers who can develop a constitutional strategy to counter this lawyer’s Hindutva-driven legal attacks?
This claim of declaring the 16th-century Sambhal Jama Masjid as a temple, along with the court’s immediate order for a “survey” and the administration conducting the survey based on the claim, reflects the clear future goals of Hindutva Brahmins. If such hateful dramas continue across the country, how will peace, order, and harmony prevail?
Our political and community leaders must now show a strong and firm response. Otherwise, these spectacles will keep happening in many of our mosques. After the Babri Masjid was turned into a temple and Hindu worship was started in Mathura’s mosque, the confidence of these Hindutva forces has skyrocketed. They are consumed by a sense of jealousy towards Muslims’ grand historical centers of monotheism. With the judiciary and administration on their side, their ambitions are growing further.
A study of Hindutva psychology reveals that to establish their idea of a Hindu Rashtra, they are desperate to turn Islamic monotheistic centers into hubs of idolatry. To present themselves as victors, they aim to convert Muslims’ majestic centers into temples.
The longer Indian Muslims take to unite constitutionally against these atrocities and idolatrous actions, the greater sacrifices t
hey will have to make.
The biased survey based on the claim that Sambhal’s Jama Masjid is a temple should be seen as an insult to the religious sentiments of Muslims!
